Our Veterinarian

Dr. Kellie Lam grew up in Southern California and completed her degree in Chemistry and Biology at California State University Long Beach. Her educational pursuits lead her to obtain a Master’s degree in Health Science at Western University where she completed her thesis on Animal Assisted Therapy. During that time, Timmy, her pet chihuahua, was experiencing many health issues.  This sparked her passion for veterinary medicine as she wanted to truly understand his medical condition.  Shortly after, she made the decision to pursue a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Ross University and continued her clinical studies at the University of Illinois; earning her degree in 2015.

After returning home, she spent the next several years working at several General Practice and Emergency Medicine Animal Hospitals around Southern California where she gained invaluable clinical experience.  Over time, she became interested in incorporating other treatment modalities into her practice.  Her hope was to combine both Western and Eastern philosophies of veterinary medicine to enhance her ability to help her patients.  With this in mind, she obtained her certification in acupuncture at the renowned Chi Institute in Florida.  Using the techniques she learned there, she has helped many of her patients, especially elderly pets and pets who did not respond to traditional Western treatment modalities, regain their mobility. She is also a big proponent of client education and hopes to partner with pet parents to provide longer healthier lives for their pets.

Dr. Lam’s professional interests includes preventative care, geriatric care, alternative medicine, and surgery.  During her free time, Dr. Lam loves to spend time with her Maltese, Lucy, and her five cats, Lisa, Mechanic, Cartman, Buttercup, and Rocket. She also loves to travel, snowboard, hike, engage in new culinary experiences, and watch movies in movie theaters.
